The Norwegian/Danish free improvisational duo of Norwegian drummer Vetle Larsen and Danish saxophonist Signe Emmeluth works with contrasts, impulse persecution, dynamics, timbre, and spontaneity in creating free improvisation with composition. The duo, which gives odes to Steve Lacy and Anthony Braxton, work with one another in a Trevor Watts/John Stevens-like interplay that also recalls the fiery Interstellar Space sessions between John Coltrane and Rashied Ali. The relatively unknown duo will be playing its first North American show during Sonic Transmissions II.
