Tune into the vibrations of the universe through sonic interpretations of works by a Sufi mystic! ~
Senso di Voce’s mind-altering improvisations surround the latest piece by Esin for the duo.
Commissioned by Chamber Music America* and inspired by the writings of revolutionary Islamic thinker İbn 'Arabî (1165-1240), ‘...through itself…’ (©2023 Esin Gunduz) is an exploration of his profound philosophical / cosmological concepts, through sound:
I. Selam:
…yearning to become one with… (wajd)
II. Everything is alive:
…the life-force inside of all existent things
(‘even inside a rock’)
III. Perplexity:
…the state of bewilderment / non-dual awareness… (hayrah)
IV. Oneness:
…the state of union / higher state of consciousness (‘immediate tasting’)

Senso di Voce focuses on the embodied experience of varying acoustical phenomena:
Esin Gunduz (voice, composition, tremolo harmonica, bass harmonica, harmonium)
Megan Kyle (oboe, English horn)
EP "marveling" is out now!
Coming out on Sept 12 from Sonic Transmissions Records you can pre-order their album "through itself" here!
