Fresh Sounds from the Underground!
Sonic Transmissions Festival returns to Austin, September 11–14, 2025, with four nights of genre-defying music across multiple venues. Featuring artists from Texas, Chicago, New York, Amsterdam, and Norway, the festival spans jazz, rock, folk, experimental, and global traditions. Co-presented by Austin’s essential adventurous music organization, Epistrophy Arts.

This year’s lineup features a powerful mix of artists from across the globe: From Chicago, genre-shifting forces Ben LaMar Gay, Damon Locks & The Gratefuls, and poet-performer Marvin Tate join the fray. Norway sends avant-garde standouts Andreas Røysum Ensemble and saxophonist Signe Emmeluth. From Amsterdam: Ibelisse Guardia Ferragutti & Frank Rosaly’s MESTIZX and Toronto’s Karen Ng. Austin is also deeply represented with Thor & Friends, Little Mazarn with GOLDEN, The Young Mothers, Lisa Cameron, Henna Chou & Joshua Thompson, and the Viva Palestina Orchestra, Also featured: Trio Glossia, led by Stefan Gonzalez; the cosmic country of Garrett T. Capps & NASA Country; and the ethereal vocal/oboe duo Senso di Voce.
