Electro-acoustic composer Rob Mazurek (born 1965) is an improvising cornetist and multi-media artist whose unique approach draws creative inspiration from a multitude of audio and visual styles. A prime mover in the vibrant Chicago and São Paulo scenes, he is the leader/organizer of the Chicago Underground Collective, Exploding Star Orchestra, Pharoah and the Underground (featuring Pharoah Sanders), and São Paulo Underground.  Mazurek has toured and recorded extensively with each of these ensembles and exhibited his artwork around the globe, establishing himself as one of the most imaginative interdisciplinary artists of his generation. Mazurek’s healthy discography includes releases on Cuneiform, Rogueart, Astral Spirits, Mego, Corbett vs. Dempsey and Delmark.
