Born and raised in the village of Oppdal, Norway, Gunvor Gustavsen grew up on Norwegian hymns that had been collected by her father Tore Fagerhaug, a folk musician and archivist. As a singer, Gustavsen’s natural vocal talents, combined with her conviction in traditional Norwegian music, have floored listeners. She currently performs in a hymn project that includes bassist Ingebrigt Håker Flaten and violinist Andreas Bjørkås, and she will be one of the featured vocalists in the Common Ground commission.
